 Water-based Coloring Agent

The complete coloring treatment has 3 general steps. In each step plays the aimed Polyforte product, which is Water-based Coloring Agent, Crosslinker and Color Fixing agent, an important role so as to have nice coloring viewing.

The non-flammable Water-based Coloring Agent is exceptionally environment-friendly, permeates into dry concrete surface and shows vivid, rich colors in green, red, blue, yellow, purple, black ans so on. The following bluish Crosslinker helps the reaction between Coloring

Agent and concrete to form as a whole body, while the reddish Color Fixing Agent helps to fix and keep the color for long duration.

1. Preparing the surface

 

·To the hard surface that is above C30 or to the silicon carbide surface, grinding and cleaning the surface with water to 300-grit. Then allow the surface to dry.

·To the loosen surface, which had not been hardened and could not be grinded, it should be firstly hardened by C/A hardening agents (See Manual of C/A hardening agent for detail) and then be grinded to 300~500-grit. Cleaning the surface with water and leaving it to dry.

·To the surface that is in the middle of above, it could be treated with agent A for one time, and then be grinded to 300~500-grit. Cleaning and drying the surface for the next step.

 

* The first step includes the treatments of hardening, grinding, cleaning and drying. When the preparation is over, the surface should be ready for coloring. The prepared surface has good fineness and is sufficiently dry. It is not over-hardened that the coloring agent might penetrate poorly, neither over-loosen, which will shorten the service life.

 

2. Coloring

 

.Before start coloring, be sure that the surface is (1) sufficiently dry, and (2) finely grinded.

.Decide a coloring method either (1) spraying, or (2) using cotton mop to spread.

.Coloring the first layer on surface for the first time. If the coloring agent is not painted evenly, or the color is light, should add more by mopping or spraying.

 .Apply the second coloring layer when the first layer is dry. The time between should not be less than 4 hours.

 .When the second coloring layer is completely dry, use lapping machined to polish and remove residuals (The accompanied sponge grit disk should be higher than 3000-grit). The surface should be polished twice in horizontal and vertical directions. At last, remove the dust by clean, dry mop.

 

3. Crosslinking

 

 .The surface should be (1) completely dry for at least 24 hours, and (2) evenly colored.

 .Use sprayer to spray a thin layer of crosslinker on the surface, which should be neither accumulated, nor flowing.

 .Wait the crosslinker to dry for at least 12 hours, and then go to next color fixing step.

 

4. Color fixing

 

.The surface should be dry.

.Spray the color-fixing agent. Could spray for multiple layers.

.Drop water on the surface and wait for minimum 30 minutes. The water would improve the fixing of color.

.After the surface dries, polishing the surface with water using lapping machine accompanied by 1000-grit or 3000-grit disk.

.Clean the surface well, and then air-dry it.

.Based upon the condition or requirement, the surface might be polished by high-speed polishing machine after applied the Lightening Agent (See the manual of Lightening Agent for details).

Attention: The surface should not contact with water after the coloring and crosslinking steps, but only when the coloring-fixing step completes.
